Evergreen 503, 2BD Condo between Vail & Lionshead

This is a private condo in an active hotel (one of maybe 5-7 in a hotel of 100+ rooms). Kind of a weird dynamic, but it works. The location is fantastic - easy walk to Lionshead or Vail Village from the back door. Couldn't really be better.

But dont' expect much from the condo itself. Its functional, but its in need of major upgrades - looks and feels like it hasn't been touched in a decade.

The couch sinks in and is not supportive, the carpet is threadbare and worn, and oh man, the (large) mattresses....I had to make sure i wasn't sleeping on the box spring directly they were so hard. Super uncomfortable. And the TV is the cheapest VISIO model you can buy - the batteries fall out of the remote and its difficult to even turn it on. And the coffee pot is also super low-end.

Shame, cause this could be a five star condo with just a tiny tiny investment to refresh the furniture.

All that said, the stuff works...none of it is broken, its just 2-star stuff. really low-end and cheap. Think of this as a 2-star Motel with a kitchen located in the prime area of Vail...which just feels weird.

That said, how much do you care? are you here for the condo itself, or just a place to sleep in between skiing and nightlife? If its the latter, you could do worse than EV503.

We had a great time. The condo was centrally located to all the shops and restaurants. The Vail Village and the paths along the gore river.

Comfortable and spacious rooom well located

The unit is certainly dated but for the most part has everything you need. With the adjoining twin queens room there is ample space. It was our family of 4, including two you children. The unit is close to both villages and easily walkable via the trail on the backside of the building. Our son also like the big hot tube that is inside the building on the ground level. Another nice amenities is the altitude sports bar inside the building. Legitimate sports bar and very convenient. CONS would be, like I said definitely date, I don't think the couch in the main room has been replaced since the building was built. Also, the view off the balcony does face the highway but is aways a bit.

We had a great time here! Loved the extra beds and the view. Would have preferred a non-highway view from the balcony but it actually wasn't too bad! Back left burner on the stove wasn't working, but that did not negatively impact our stay at all. The carpets might need a steam clean and the showers drain a little slow but that also didn't really negatively impact our experience there! Great location as well, right between Lionshead and Vail with a sub 5 minute walk to either place. :)
